Witnessing an act of racism iz kinda irksome, but iznt it wurse iff U r the VICTIM of racism? Tats wadd happenend to me. A few daes bak i wuz wiff my frenn on the MRT tat wuz bound for Orchard. We were happily sipping our drinx evn though we knew tat it wuz prohibited on all MRT trains and stations. At dis point, pls kindly SHUT UP and don say "You were in the wrong." coz u havent heard the full story YET. At one of the stops, the doors no surprise, a malay MRT wurker wuz practically screaming "DO YOU WAN ME TO SUMMON U? (he said 'summon' as 'saman') SUMMON $500! DO YOU NOE TAT UR NT ALLOWED TO DRINK OR EAT ON THE MRT? KIP TAT NOW!" oo... wuz i PISSED. I gave him attitude but we put dwn our drinx. Aftr the MRT doors drew close, i wuz fuming. I staged a loud conversation wif my fren abt hw the MRT wurker so called 'over-reacted'. Whn we alighted, an old man caught up wiff uz & told uz in chinese, "Do you noe tat bside u, dere wuz a malay lady drinking too? The MRT wurker din scold her but onli scold both of u. In S'pore, we donnid to b scared of dis kind of tinks. Muz spk up and retort. Den hor, whn she alighted, she wuz laffing, u noe?" Aftr we heard dis, we bcame evn more incensed. DIS WUZ PURE RACISM! HELLO?! Y DIN THE MRT WURKER SCOLD HER? DON GIF ME CRAP LYK "HE DIN SEE" COZ THE MALAY LADY WUZ RYT BSIDE UZ! I MEAN, I KNEW WE WERE IN THE WRONG AND EVRITINK BUT THE LADY OSO HAD TO B SCOLDED, RYT? SHE WUZ OSO DRINKIN & WE TOOK THE RAP FOR HER! My gawd. It wuz INFURIATING. Tch. The government promotes racial harmony but dey don seem to noe wadd iz going on bhind dier baks. Tinks lyk dis. Dey hav a flawed image of peace and racial harmony... NO OFFENCE but im juz voicing my own thoughts and opinions. zz tok abt FAVOURISM and UNFAIR TREATMENT not the mention RACISM.
